Thanks Franco - looking forward to hearing, deposit files only letting me download one track an hour :)

Now, good news on your query on my blog about that Digger's Digest track, thanks to my friend Arkadin :

This might be a nice album, but uncompressed WAV as single files? That's just too easy. You should encrypt those files and let the downloader guess the key.

Sorry Guys about the seperate files, haven't bothered for a long time... as you can see ! will get it right in the future....Thanks for the info Simon...made my day!!

New Link sorted in one file now boys and girls !

Well Franco, thanks for the single file, and it's great music. But where's the nice sound? It has the typical treble cut-off and ringing of MP3, and checking out the spectrograms confirm that this is NOT a genuine lossless vinyl rip, but a decompressed MP3. A pity, but thanks anyway.

Ripped from my own vinyl copy.. 32bit float with pro tools.
This upload is from the back up wav files burnt to CDR, 'NOT' decompressed MP3.
The original recording isn't exactly 'Audiophile' quality anyway(Maybe something to do with Direct to disc recording) but having the benefit of both formats i personally think the rip is close to the original analogue sound...on my rig anyway it sounds great.
Anon' maybe you would be better buying the LP.

Little audiophile checking his spectrograms, not sharing any music, and anonymously criticising other people's sharing. Sad life.

So it's come to this - mouth foaming personal attacks on comment sections on music blogs. Or did the 666 in your name make you angry? ;-) Anyway, I shared close to 40 rare albums during the last years, under different names, mostly indirectly through other people's blogs (maybe you even downloaded some of them). Sad is your infantile way to post here, I mean we're all veterans here, right? But Franco's been cool with it, so that's OK. (BTW Franco, maybe something in your audio chain sneaked in a lossy compression, though it's really not that important. Don't want you get angry as well. ;-)

Simon666 said...

longest troll reply ever, anonymous. I like your structuring of having shared 40 albums 'under different names' - an untraceable backstory. Why don't you apologise to Franco for your incorrect claim that he had put forward a set of decompressed mp3s as a lossless rip?

Simon666 said...

Also anonymous - as someone who runs a university audio degree, I'm fascinated to hear your theory of exactly where in the chain of a direct vinyl rip to Pro Tools a lossy compression could have snuck in ? (or maybe you'll answer the other comment first, and apologise to Franco for your incorrect assertion).

thanks for this, very rare and groovy! as for the controversy in comments above, anon guy sure comes across like an arrogant prick, but trebles indeed sound a little cut off and compressed, though certainly good enough for listening!

Thanks Insta !

Hey this is all new to me,so maybe i did cock something up but as I said even the LP sounds 'compressed' when played.
Maybe Ii'll do a Re-rip if iI ever
get my Turntable set up again.

My take....

I like my music stored in the
best quality available..that
said..to me its all about the MUSIC!
If its rare and only available
in 128Kps then I'm more than
grateful to whomever posts it
...otherwise by the original
eh!

Regards,

Franco
