SUNBIRDS - ZAGORA 1973.....


Don't see this currently available on any blogs etc.....so
Sunbirds from Germany. Their second offering, the first being
the self titled LP from 1971 now available on CD.
Nice Fusion LP...my fav's being the acoustic 'African
Sun' and 'Ocean Song' with its bouncing Rhodes....
featured on several Euro compilations.

Weather Reports former percussionist's solo outing from 1979
released in Japan only circa 2002.
Slightly commercial sound but rhythmic and percussive as you 
would expect!

TO BE - TO BE 1976

This Isn't mine...but this obscure hard come by Jazz/Funk/Fusion LP
definitely deserves wider exposure.(Not that it will get it here!)
Don't see it out there in Blogland so thought I'd share....
This is a strong album by German band 'To Be'on the 'Brain' Label
from 1976.
Stand out tracks for me include the self explanatory 'Samba For
Heino R'....the Cool...'Is it Leibmans Song' (perhaps for Dave
Leibman?)& 'Tell The Truth' plus the Rhodes led Bossa beat of
'Glucklich'......loads o' Rhodes & Rhythm !

Mandrill form 1975....One of my favourite Mandrill LP's specially
the whole of Side 2...could do with a CD release really.
I know its been posted before here and there but maybe not lossless.
My LP was ripped for me a while ago by a friend on one of those
CD Recorders that were out a number of years ago.
Ripped in 16/44 WAV I think It's decent sounding.
Please give the thumbs up in the comments if you happen to DL.

MANU DIBANGO - SOUL MAKOSSA ( VERSION ORIGINALE ???)

Manu's Soul Makossa appeared in various guises from 1972 - 1973
as 'Soul Makossa' or 'O'Boso' depending on Label and Country of
release and all labelled as 'Version Originale' or 'Original Version'.
LP's seem to have had a core of 5 tracks and depending on whether
O'boso or Soul Makossa, 1or 2 more tracks. 'Wildman in The City' &
'Ngosso' off  O'boso and 'Lily' off Soul Makossa....neither appearing
on the other......Except for the 1973 Decca German release:

which featured all 9 Tracks from the variations.
This LP is the one I sought and purchased but have not yet Digitized.
Instead I present from my CD collection the 1994 French Musidisc
release of Soul Makossa in WAV plus the 2 missing tracks from O'Boso
'Wildman In The City' & 'Ngosso' (2 Of My Fav's ! in 24/96 courtesy
of a High Res LP Rip) to complete the 9 tracks from this period of
'Version Originale'
